Club records...just like buses

A new Chorlton Runners club record is always a great event but to have a club record broken twice in one morning is truly amazing! It happened yesterday at 10 miles with Andy H running a fantastic 55:38 at Preston, only for Matt S to run 52:35 at Brampton to Carlisle! Matt was 10th overall and 1st V40, with Steven also having a brilliant run not far behind in 53:08. Great running also at Preston from Stephanie who was 1st F50 and from Dan, Emma T, Sarah K, Hannah B and Laura H, and at Brampton from Dave M, Naomi and Hannah C.

Great running also at two tough, hilly Half Marathons, from Ben, Alan and Emma C at the tough, hilly 13 Arches Trail Half at Radcliffe and from Jamie, Christian, Ste, Mels, Paul A, Paul S, Mej G, Katie M, David L, Amanda, Tim McF, Lauren B and Mo.

Andrew H, Kate V, Sophie and Sarah S (with Jane as her guide runner) ran the Heaton Park 10km for the Movember Foundation charity with a great run by Andrew to finish 9th in his first race for the club, while Charlotte ran Blackburn 10km.

Nathan R is one of our endurance heroes and he again took on the epic Escape from Meriden where contestants set off at midnight and the challenge is as far and as fast as possible in 24 hours! Despite flooded roads and muddy, churned up footpaths Nathan achieved his best ever result of 13th, covering an amazing 87 miles to be awarded a Gold Medal.

On the hills Francis ran the tough Tour of Pendle Fell Race, 16.8 miles with 4,833 feet of ascent.

And on Wednesday we had a team coordinated by Vicky running two 5k loops as part of the Manchester 24 Hour Run Against Homelessness.

Well done everyone!
