Welfare Officer

In addition to a Lead Welfare Officer, England Athletics advises that a club the size of Chorlton Runners should appoint Welfare Officers to assist and report to the Lead Welfare Officer.  They will not be required to attend committee meetings and may not be a DBS verifier.  It is beneficial for the club to have at least one female and one male Welfare Officer (one of which may be the Lead).  The duties will include

  • Support the Lead Welfare Officer

  • Be a point of contact for members who have a complaint or a safeguarding issue

  • Attend the England Athletics safeguarding and adult Welfare course if required

  • Must have an enhanced DBS check
