Facebook Application issues
If you've arrived at this page, it's because you've asked to join our Chorlton Runners members Facebook group but we've been unable to identify you as a club member.
Unfortunately, the only way we can let you know there's an issue is by rejecting your application for now. When we do that, the message Facebook lets us send is an extremely short one - that feels rather impersonal and doesn't allow the space for useful information, hence why we send you here.
You might not have been able to answer our questions because you're not a member and are just interested or want to try-out. We'd still really like to see you at one of our sessions - read on for how to come along!
I want to try-out Chorlton Runners
That's great! We have details about how you can try-out on this page. We always offer a warm welcome to prospective members and you can even attend our social run sessions simply by turning up on the day.
The days and times of all our sessions can be found here, and we will post about any cancellations or significant news on our public-facing Facebook page and Instagram.
I want to join Chorlton Runners
Glad to hear it! Details on our membership levels and how to join are on this page.
Once you have paid your membership fee you will be emailed the details you need for Facebook group admission.
I am a member!
Sorry about that! Please ask to join the group again and include your England Athletics unique recognition number (URN) in the relevant field - it should be in email from when you joined. If you can't find it, please email the membership secretary at membership@chorltonrunners.co.uk and they can provide it for you.
If your name on Facebook is different to the one you joined with, please include the name on your membership profile in the field provided.
Why do you keep the group members-only?
Predominantly to offer our members the security of knowing that if they're posting a photo, planning an event or discussing running that they're doing it with a fellow club member.
We also post about offers and organise events that are exclusive to club members in the group, while requiring people apply to join the page means it won't be filled with advertising posts or spam messages.
I've been let into one/some of your sub-groups though?
We let our session leaders manage their sub-groups with some autonomy, so they may let non-members in if they've asked to try out.
The sub-groups tend to be used mostly for organisational purposes for specific weekly/fortnightly sessions, so tend to be quieter and not have the broader range of posts found in the main group.
