Chorlton Runners RULES:

  1. Respect your run leaders and follow their instructions at all times. The weekly runs can’t go ahead without them. They use planned routes which have been cleared with risk assessments and are suitable for the group.

  2. Respect and acknowledge other road and footpath users. Be aware of your surroundings, run single file and slow down if you have to.  Please give a smile and a thank you to anyone who stops or moves out of the way.

  3. Be aware of the other runners in your group.  Encourage and support each other and stop to assist or slow down if you need to.

  4. Take responsibility for your own safety and those around you.  Warn others if you think they may be at risk.

  5. Wear something bright with high visibility reflective material when running at night.  Flashing lights are also recommended.  You must not rely on the reflectivity or lights of those running with you.

  6. Be supportive of other running clubs and their achievements.  Although we may compete on the track and road we are all running together for the same reasons.

  7. Follow race rules.  Whether it’s UKA, FRA, or an independent race, you must abide by their rules.  As this reflects badly on Chorlton Runners the committee may take action above any actions of the race organisers or governing bodies.  This includes swapping race numbers without permission.

  8. Show respect to fellow club members whether you are running or socialising in person or online.  Respect each others’ differences and abilities.  Aggressive, abusive or threatening behaviour will not be tolerated.

  9. Chorlton Runners is committed to promoting equality and diversity and valuing every individual, regardless of age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, or belief.

  10. Chorlton Runners will take any complaints or allegations seriously and, if necessary, will challenge, discipline, or revoke the membership of any individual who doesn't meet the standards set out in rules 8 & 9.
