Ben ashworth spirit of chorlton: Suzy Hill

Suzy has continued to give a lot to the club since leaving the committee. She is one of the core team for couch to 5k, Calderdale Way Relays and Welsh Castles. Suzy is a frequent run leader and will step up to fill a gap if necessary. She always turns up with a smile on her face and exemplifies the spirit of Chorlton Runners.

Suzy has been prominent in our off-road sheep community, amongst other things, helping backbone 10 of our runners running the West Highland Way. And also being a key part of our Cross Country community. At the same time she has also improved and evolved as a runner.

Dave Telford Volunteer of the Year: Danny McCarron

Danny is one of our most prominent leaders, bringing interesting routes and sticking to the advertised pace

Unsung hero: ruth abbott

Ruth often goes under the radar. She keenly volunteers as a run leader on Sundays and has done for a long time

Most improved: adam burnett

Adam has PB'd every core discipline from 5k to marathon since Sep-25, including a sub 80 half and 2:52 marathon!

Best Comeback: Naomi Stones

Naomi has made an amazing come back after having 2 children over the last 4 years. She broke the Welsh Castles CR women’s record for stage 17! Prior to this in recent months she had achieved amazing times in PR/ 10k / half marathon. In addition to making a great return she is a committed member of CR and before having children she run lead a range of paces and distances and was always enthusiastic and committed to supporting others in their running . Naomi is yet to achieve her best for herself and the club and I think recognition for all that she has achieved recently especially in Welsh Castles makes her the obvious recipient for this award

Feet of endurance: Alex Buckley

Alex put in an incredible performance in the Manchester to Liverpool Ultramarathon, finishing 3rd female and in the top 20 overall. A run of this distance is incredible in and of itself, but to keep fairly consistent splits over the entire 7 hours on her feet shows how well Alex not only ran this race but also trained for it. Remarkable stuff!

Best newcomer: finn Boyd

I love meeting new club members who throw themselves wholeheartedly into the club, and this member has certainly made a positive impact since joining. A super-friendly face who, despite being new to the area, quickly started run leading regularly and has also helped with the recent Couch to 5K cohort. Not only that, but they’ve joined the core volunteer team at a local parkrun and regularly race in club kit too. I know you’re training for a β€˜Fling’, but I hope your relationship with Chorlton Runners isn’t just that, and that you stick with us for years to come!

chorlton challenge

Chorlton Challenge is our internal race parkrun series. The winners this year were Heather Gourlay and Rich Turner
